With many of the country’s top designers on board, MYER’s SUMMER/SPRING showing was always going to be impressive.

Unlike last season, this year cuts are less soft and breezy, and more structured. With MYER having such a variety of designers, from the more corporate-styled CUE, to an edgy SASS & BIDE to the elegantĀ ARTHUR GALAN, it was hard to pin down a season “look”. Bright colours are still going strong with oranges, blues and yellows firm favourites. Prints were once again all over the catwalk but this year florals were overtaken by geometrics.

Even within the labels themselves, there was a great variety in styles. For example, SASS & BIDE opted to showcase a futuristic, tight metallic dress and a flowy black maxi all in the same collection.

Yet the theme that came across strongly is that this season it’s about unfussy, sleek and elegant.
